Course overview

Discover Phuket's shipwrecks with the SSI Wreck Diving specialty, focused on the King Cruiser ferry that has become one of the Andaman Sea's premier wreck dives. You develop survey, navigation and responsible exploration skills across a series of wreck dives, learning to read a wreck's layout safely. It is an ideal pairing with the SSI Deep Diving specialty.

What you’ll learn

• Survey and map a wreck's structure
• Identify and avoid wreck-diving hazards
• Apply responsible, conservation-minded wreck practices
• Manage buoyancy and trim near a wreck

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent (Advanced Adventurer recommended)
• Comfortable diving to the depths involved (up to 30 metres)
• Diver medical clearance where required

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Survey and navigation

   Academic review and dive planning, then wreck dives covering external survey and reel use on the King Cruiser.
2. Day2
   Mapping and assessment

   Further wreck dives focused on mapping and hazard management before certification.
