From a Goa dive school in 2016 to India's first scuba aggregator. The same instructors, the same standards, now connecting Indian divers to the world's finest reefs, with zero agency fees.
FlyingFish was founded by Amitabh Gautam, who spent more than 25 years inside Indian television news before he ever picked up a regulator, a career built on telling other people's stories, often in places others wouldn't go.
In 2016, after a certification course turned into something closer to an obsession, Amitabh traded the newsroom for the Arabian Sea and registered Flying Fish Diving India Private Limited in Goa.
The instinct that shaped his journalism shaped the dive school too: a refusal to dress things up. Diving in India had become, in too many places, a 40-minute photo opportunity. Amitabh started FlyingFish as a corrective, small classes, certified instructors, real safety standards, and a "no swimming experience needed" promise that we still mean literally.
Today, Amitabh is an SSI Advanced Adventurer with 200+ logged dives. He's still the person you'll meet at the dock most mornings before the boat leaves for Grandé.
After eight years of running our own school, we kept hearing the same question from divers we'd certified: "I want to dive Maldives next, who do I trust over there?" The honest answer was: we didn't know either. So in 2026 we built flyingfish.live, with the same values we bring to our own dive boat.
You pay the operator's price. We're paid by partners we've vetted, not commission stacked on top of you.
Every destination, across 21 locations from Koh Tao to Raja Ampat, is one we've dived, audited, or partnered with directly.
You don't need to learn a different operator name in every country. FlyingFish is the relationship; the dive centre handles the boats.
Our trip planner Laila uses your travel month, certification level, and what you want to see to surface trips that fit, in about thirty seconds.
E-E-A-T isn't an acronym to us, it's the team roster. These are the people who actually take you underwater. Combined, our dive team has logged more than 8,000 dives and personally certified hundreds of divers.

One instructor, personally guiding every first-timer, one to one in the ocean. That's the rule. That's been the rule since 2016.
We're certified by both SSI and PADI, the two largest dive certification bodies in the world. Most schools pick one. We chose both because our learners come from both systems, and a certification should travel with the diver, not the school.
Whatever you book, the booking flow, the safety standard, and the human you can call when something needs sorting all run through us.

We run from our home base at Grandé Island in the Arabian Sea, a 90-minute boat ride from Calangute. Our signature sites, Suzy's Wreck and the coral gardens, sit in 18–40 feet of water. Perfect for first-timers, rich enough for certified divers to keep coming back.

Our platform connects you to 21 destinations and 50+ curated trips across Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea, East Africa, and the South Pacific. Trips start at ₹2,200 a dive and scale to liveaboards.
Eight years ago, Amitabh opened a dive school in Goa because he wanted Indian divers to have somewhere honest to learn. The platform you're reading about is the same idea, with a bigger ocean.
We hope to see you underwater.
