Day1
E-learning + theory exam
SSI online module: physics of diving, equipment, planning, safety. ~8–10 hours self-paced — most students finish over 2–3 evenings before arrival. Theory exam (open-book, ~30 min) on day 1 morning.
Day2
Confined-water training + sign-off
Two pool sessions covering buoyancy, mask clearing, regulator recovery, buddy drills and emergency ascent skills. Skills sign-off and referral letter issued at the end.

Schools and group cohorts often have time for confined-water training in Goa but want to complete the open-water dives closer to home. The referral lets you split the course across two centres without losing certification credit.
Where can I complete the open-water dives?
Any SSI- or PADI-affiliated dive centre worldwide. We send a referral letter and your e-record so the receiving centre can sign you off.
How long do I have to complete the open-water portion?
12 months from the date of your confined-water sign-off.
