Frequently asked questions
Why would I need this in India?
India water is warm. But if you travel — Iceland silfra, Norway fjords, lake-diving, year-round Europe — a dry suit is mandatory. Many travelling divers keep one.
Prerequisite?
SSI Open Water + 10+ logged dives + Perfect Buoyancy strongly recommended. Age 12+.
Is it harder than wetsuit diving?
Different, not harder. Buoyancy management has more variables (suit air + BCD air both shift). Course focuses exclusively on this.
How much does a dry suit cost?
Entry models ~₹65K (DUI, Bare). Mid-range ₹1.5L (Whites, O'Three). Top-tier ₹3L+ (DUI custom). Rentals available before commitment.
Will I get cold even with a dry suit?
Underclothing matters more than the suit. With proper thermal underlayer, dry suit divers stay comfortable in 4–10°C water for 60+ minutes. We brief you on layering as part of the course.
Can I do dry-suit dives in Goa?
Goa water is 26–30°C — too warm for dry suits in normal conditions. The course covers theory + skills in a heated training pool/tank, then a real cool-water dive at a deeper site for practice.
What if my suit floods at depth?
Drilled in the course — wing-only buoyancy ascent, slow controlled rate. Modern dry suits rarely catastrophically flood; small leaks are common and managed by venting + ascending.
