Course overview

Add the SSI Wreck Diving specialty on Maafushi by exploring Kuda Giri, the South Malé Atoll's signature wreck, a coral-encrusted cargo vessel alive with reef fish. Over training dives in warm 27-30°C water you master wreck navigation, survey and safe limited-penetration techniques. You leave qualified to plan and enjoy wreck dives responsibly.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct wreck dives within safe limits
• Navigate a wreck using guidelines and reels
• Survey and map a wreck and identify hazards
• Control buoyancy and silt around fragile structure
• Apply limited-penetration procedures correctly
• Recognise the marine life a wreck supports

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent certification
• Comfortable diving to 30 metres
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Academics & first dives

   Complete wreck theory via the SSI app, then survey and exterior dives on Kuda Giri.
2. Day2
   Navigation & survey

   Run guidelines and complete mapping and limited-penetration practice to certify.
