Course overview

Earn the SSI Wreck Diving specialty on Grand Cayman by training on the USS Kittiwake, a purpose-sunk former submarine-rescue ship that ranks among the Caribbean's best wreck dives. Over your training dives you learn safe wreck-diving procedures, mapping and the techniques for navigating an upright wreck with multiple open decks. You finish certified to explore wrecks confidently around the world.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Open Water Diver (or equivalent certification)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory and exterior dives

   Complete the digital academics and explore the exterior of the USS Kittiwake, practising navigation and hazard awareness.
2. Day2
   Mapping and assessment

   Run a wreck-survey exercise, refine line skills and complete the certification dives.
