Course overview

Earn the PADI Wreck Diver specialty on Grand Cayman, home to one of the Caribbean's finest purpose-sunk wrecks, the USS Kittiwake. Across four dives on this 251-foot former submarine-rescue ship, you learn safe wreck-diving techniques, mapping and limited penetration of its open decks. You finish certified to explore wrecks responsibly worldwide.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15 (or 12 for Junior, with depth limits)
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver certification
• Comfort with buoyancy control
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory and first wreck dives

   Cover wreck-diving knowledge, then make your first two dives exploring the exterior of the USS Kittiwake.
2. Day2
   Mapping and penetration

   Complete a wreck-mapping project and practise guided penetration of the Kittiwake's open decks, then certify.
