Course overview

Add the SSI Wreck Diving specialty in Fiji and explore the soft-coral wrecks scattered around Pacific Harbour and Beqa Lagoon. Through classroom sessions and open-water dives you master wreck survey, mapping and safe limited-penetration techniques on structures draped in coral and teeming with reef fish. It certifies you to plan and enjoy recreational wreck dives.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct safe recreational wreck dives
• Survey, map and navigate around a wreck
• Use guidelines, reels and a primary line correctly
• Recognise and manage wreck-specific hazards
• Apply limited-penetration techniques within the light zone
• Select and check wreck-diving equipment

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician where required

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Academics & first dives

   Complete the SSI wreck academics, then survey and map a local soft-coral wreck on your first open-water dives.
2. Day2
   Technique & assessment

   Practise reel use and limited penetration on a second wreck and finish the specialty evaluation.
