Course overview

Earn the PADI Wreck Diver specialty in Fiji and explore the soft-coral-encrusted wrecks of the Pacific Harbour and Beqa Lagoon corridor, including the Tasu II artificial reef and John's Tunnel with its largely intact trawler. Across four dives you learn safe wreck-diving practice, mapping and penetration techniques on structures alive with reef fish and macro life. It certifies you to plan and lead recreational wreck dives.

What you’ll learn

• Plan, organise and conduct safe recreational wreck dives
• Survey and map a wreck and use guidelines and reels
• Navigate the exterior of a wreck and manage hazards
• Use a primary line and run safe limited-penetration techniques
• Avoid silt-out, entanglement and sharp-edge hazards
• Assess wreck-specific equipment and emergency procedures

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician where required

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & first two wreck dives

   Cover wreck-diving theory, then survey and map a soft-coral wreck such as the Tasu II on your first two dives.
2. Day2
   Mapping & penetration dives

   Complete two more dives practising reel use and limited penetration, finishing the specialty assessment.
