Course overview

The SSI Scuba Diver certification is a streamlined subset of Open Water training, perfect if time is limited but you want a genuine qualification to dive in Baa Atoll, Maldives. Through SSI's digital learning, confined sessions and two open-water dives near Dharavandhoo, you certify to dive to 12 metres under the supervision of an SSI professional.

What you’ll learn

• Use basic scuba equipment with confidence
• Breathe, equalise and move comfortably underwater
• Clear your mask and recover and share a regulator
• Control basic buoyancy and safe ascents
• Dive to 12 metres with an SSI professional

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior) / 15
• No prior experience or swimming certification required
• Comfortable swimming and floating
• Reasonable health - a diver medical questionnaire applies

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Digital theory & confined water

   Work through the MySSI Scuba Diver modules and practise skills in confined water.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives & certification

   Complete two open-water training dives to 12 m on a house reef near Dharavandhoo, then certify.
