Course overview

The PADI Scuba Diver certification is a subset of the Open Water course, ideal if you are short on time but want a real qualification to dive in Baa Atoll, Maldives. You complete the first portions of knowledge and confined water plus two open-water dives near Dharavandhoo, certifying to dive to 12 metres under the supervision of a PADI professional.

• Use basic scuba equipment competently
• Breathe, equalise and move easily underwater
• Clear your mask and recover and share a regulator
• Control basic buoyancy and safe ascents
• Dive to 12 metres with a PADI professional

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior Scuba Diver)
• No prior experience or swimming certification required
• Able to swim and float comfortably
• Reasonable health - a diver medical questionnaire applies

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Complete the first three knowledge sections and confined-water skill sessions.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives & certification

   Complete two open-water training dives to 12 m on a house reef near Dharavandhoo, then certify.
