Course overview

SSI Diver Stress & Rescue teaches you to spot trouble before it starts, a smart skill for South Ari Atoll's remote channel and whale-shark dives. You will practise stress recognition and rescue tows in the warm Maldivian lagoon before testing them on a reef site.

What you’ll learn

• Recognising stress and preventing accidents
• Self-rescue and air-management awareness
• Assisting distressed and unresponsive divers
• In-water rescue breathing and tows
• Building emergency-response confidence

Prerequisites

• 12 years or older
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent
• Current first-aid/CPR (React Right) certification

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Stress & prevention

   Study stress recognition and practise self-rescue in the lagoon.
2. Day2
   Rescue scenarios

   Run open-water rescue scenarios on a South Ari reef and master unresponsive-diver tows.
