Course overview

Turn into a calmer, more capable diver in South Ari Atoll, where mild channel currents and remote sites make self-rescue and buddy-rescue skills truly worthwhile. The PADI Rescue Diver course has you practising tired-diver tows and surface rescues in the warm 26-30C lagoon before the real channel dives.

What you’ll learn

• Self-rescue and stress recognition
• Assisting panicked and tired divers
• Managing an unresponsive diver at the surface
• Emergency management and equipment problems
• Search techniques for a missing diver

Prerequisites

• 12 years or older (Junior at 12-14)
• PADI Adventure Diver or equivalent
• EFR Primary and Secondary Care within 24 months

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Rescue skills

   Practise self-rescue, tows and surface management in the calm lagoon.
2. Day2
   Unresponsive diver drills

   Master in-water rescue breathing and bringing a diver ashore or to the boat.
3. Day3
   Scenarios

   Complete two full emergency scenarios on a South Ari reef site.
