Become a SSI Diver Stress & Rescue in North Malé Atoll and learn to prevent and manage diving emergencies in the atoll's open-water and channel conditions. Through scenarios on resort house reefs and nearby sites you practise self-rescue, tired-diver tows and missing-diver searches, emerging a calmer, more capable buddy and an essential step toward professional ratings.

The SSI Rescue Diver pathway

SSI Diver Stress & Rescue combines stress recognition with rescue technique and requires a current React Right (CPR/first aid) certification; it is a prerequisite for the SSI Divemaster programme.

Where you'll dive in North Male Atoll

Rescue scenarios are staged on North Malé Atoll's sheltered house reefs and nearby open-water sites, with calm lagoons available for skill practice before progressing to more exposed conditions. The diving season peaks from November to April, when visibility is best across North Malé Atoll's channels and reefs, with warm 27-30°C water year-round and moderate currents on the channel sites.
