Become a PADI Rescue Diver in North Malé Atoll and learn to prevent and manage diving emergencies in the atoll's open-water and channel conditions. Through scenarios on resort house reefs and nearby sites you practise self-rescue, tired-diver tows and missing-diver searches, emerging a calmer, more capable buddy and an essential step toward professional ratings.
The PADI Rescue Diver course requires a current EFR (or equivalent CPR/first aid) certification and is a prerequisite for the PADI Divemaster rating.
Rescue scenarios are staged on North Malé Atoll's sheltered house reefs and nearby open-water sites, with calm lagoons available for skill practice before progressing to more exposed conditions. The diving season peaks from November to April, when visibility is best across North Malé Atoll's channels and reefs, with warm 27-30°C water year-round and moderate currents on the channel sites.
