Build the skills to prevent and handle dive emergencies with the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue programme at Kovalam on Kerala's Arabian Sea coast. Through scenario practice on the warm Kovalam reef you learn to spot stress early, assist struggling divers and manage accidents calmly. It is a confidence-building step that also feeds the SSI professional pathway.
SSI Diver Stress & Rescue is the SSI equivalent of a rescue course and is recognised internationally. It is a prerequisite for the SSI Divemaster pathway, and a current first-aid and CPR rating is required, which can be completed at the same time.
Scenarios run at sheltered sites along the Kovalam reef in the Arabian Sea, with warm 27-30°C water and the calm post-monsoon season (about October to March) giving steady conditions for rescue practice.
