The SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course in Alor builds the awareness and skills to prevent, recognise and manage diving emergencies, which matters in this current-swept Indonesian archipelago. You practise self-rescue and assists in the calmer bays near Kalabahi, then run realistic scenarios on local reefs to learn how to handle stress and emergencies in real conditions.
SSI Diver Stress & Rescue is the SSI equivalent of a rescue course, delivered through the digital platform, and is a required step toward SSI Dive Guide and Divemaster. Current first-aid and CPR training such as React Right is a prerequisite.
Skills are practised in the protected bays near Kalabahi, then assessed through scenarios on local reefs where Alor's currents add realism to handling a stressed or missing diver during the April-to-November season.
