The PADI Rescue Diver course in Alor turns you into a more aware, capable diver who can prevent and manage problems, a genuine asset in the archipelago's strong, shifting currents. Through scenario training in the calmer bays near Kalabahi and on local reefs, you learn self-rescue, how to assist a panicked or unresponsive diver, and how to coordinate an emergency at the surface.
PADI Rescue Diver is widely regarded as the most rewarding recreational course and is a required step toward the Divemaster rating. Current Emergency First Response (or equivalent first-aid and CPR) training is a prerequisite.
Rescue skills are drilled in the sheltered bays around Kalabahi where you can repeat exercises safely, then tested in scenarios on local reefs where Alor's currents add realism to managing a tired or missing diver.
