Course overview

The SSI Scuba Skills Update is a refresher for certified divers returning after a break, restoring confidence and core skills before diving Zanzibar. You revisit key theory and practise fundamental skills in shallow water so you can comfortably enjoy guided reef dives around Mnemba Atoll and Stone Town.

What you’ll learn

• Review dive theory and safety procedures
• Re-practise mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Re-establish buoyancy and trim
• Refresh dive planning and buddy skills
• Regain comfort and confidence in the water
• Update on current diving best practice

Prerequisites

• Existing SSI (or equivalent) certification
• Recommended for divers inactive 6 months or more
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician if applicable

   Refresh & dive

   Complete the SSI digital skills review and a shallow skills session, then optionally join a guided check-out dive on a sheltered Mnemba or Stone Town reef.
