Course overview

Become a fully certified diver with the SSI Open Water Diver course in Tarkarli-Malvan, earned through the digital MySSI platform and four open-water dives to 18 metres in the calm, sheltered bay beside Sindhudurg Fort. You gain a globally recognised licence to dive independently with a buddy worldwide - all on a domestic trip with no passport needed.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, check and use all scuba equipment
• Master the essential entry-level scuba skills
• Control buoyancy and conduct safe descents and ascents
• Plan dives with a dive computer or tables
• Handle out-of-air and other problems with a buddy
• Dive independently to 18 metres after certification

• Minimum age 10 (Junior)
• Able to swim and be comfortable in open water
• No prior experience required
• Diver medical questionnaire / fitness to dive

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Work through the MySSI knowledge sections and practise core skills in the calm Tarkarli shallows.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives 1-2

   Apply your skills on the first two open-water dives to around 12 metres in the sheltered bay near Sindhudurg Fort.
3. Day3
   Open-water dives 3-4

   Complete the final two dives to 18 metres on the boat-accessed reefs off Malvan.
