Course overview

Become a certified diver with the SSI Open Water Diver course on Kadmat Island. Through digital theory, confined-water training in the calm Lakshadweep lagoon and four open-water dives on the atoll's coral reefs, you earn a globally recognised qualification to dive to 18 metres with a buddy in one of India's most untouched diving destinations.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, check and look after your scuba equipment
• Perform essential skills such as mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Achieve neutral buoyancy and good trim
• Plan dives with a computer or tables
• Handle out-of-air and other situations with a buddy
• Dive independently to 18 metres with a certified buddy

Prerequisites

• No prior experience required
• Minimum age 10 (Junior) or 15 for full certification
• Able to swim and float comfortably (basic water skills assessed)
• Complete a diver medical questionnaire

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Digital theory & confined water

   Complete the SSI digital theory and practise core skills in the calm, shallow Kadmat lagoon.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives 1 & 2

   Apply your skills on the first two open-water dives on the atoll's coral reef.
3. Day3
   Open-water dives 3 & 4

   Finish the final two open-water dives, then certify as an SSI Open Water Diver.
