Course overview

Get your full diving licence with the SSI Open Water Diver course on Gili Trawangan, certifying you to dive to 18 metres worldwide. Using SSI's digital academics, confined-water sessions and four open-water dives on the island's calm turtle reefs, you learn to dive confidently and independently with a buddy.

What you’ll learn

• Set up, use and care for scuba equipment
• Perform core skills in confined water
• Clear your mask, control buoyancy and share air
• Plan dives with a computer or tables
• Make four open-water dives to 18 metres
• Manage common situations safely with a buddy

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior Open Water Diver)
• No prior certification required
• Able to swim and float comfortably
• Complete a diver medical questionnaire

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Academics & confined water

   Complete SSI digital academics and first confined-water skills in calm Gili shallows.
2. Day2
   Confined skills & first open-water dives

   Finish confined-water training and make your first two open-water dives on a Gili turtle reef.
3. Day3
   Open-water dives & certification

   Two more dives to 18 metres, the final assessment, then certification as an SSI Open Water Diver.
