Course overview

Become a fully certified diver with the PADI Open Water Diver course on Gili Trawangan, the world's most popular scuba certification, qualifying you to dive to 18 metres anywhere. Over confined-water sessions and four open-water dives on the island's calm turtle reefs you gain the skills to dive independently with a buddy.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, use and maintain all scuba equipment
• Master 20-plus core skills in confined water
• Clear your mask, manage buoyancy and share air with a buddy
• Plan dives using tables or a dive computer
• Make four open-water dives to a maximum of 18 metres
• Handle common problems independently and safely

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior Open Water Diver 10-14)
• No prior certification required
• Able to swim and float comfortably
• Complete a diver medical questionnaire

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Complete knowledge development and your first confined-water skills in calm, shallow Gili water.
2. Day2
   Confined skills & first open-water dives

   Finish confined-water training and make your first two open-water dives on a Gili turtle reef.
3. Day3
   Open-water dives, exam & certification

   Two more open-water dives to 18 metres, the final theory exam, then certification as a PADI Open Water Diver.
