Earn your full diving certification with the SSI Open Water Diver course in Djibouti, a globally recognised qualification gained on the calm Gulf of Tadjoura where the Red Sea opens to the Indian Ocean. Through SSI's flexible digital learning, confined-water sessions and four open-water dives you learn to dive independently with a buddy to 18 metres, ready to explore the reefs and walls of this rarely-crowded Red Sea destination.
The SSI Open Water Diver certification is recognised worldwide and delivered through SSI's digital training system, qualifying you to dive independently with a buddy to 18 metres. It is the prerequisite for the SSI Advanced Adventurer programme.
Training uses the sheltered reef sites of the Gulf of Tadjoura, where calm-to-moderate conditions, light currents and warm 24-30°C water through the October-to-February peak make an ideal learning environment, with whale-shark sightings nearby in season.
