Course overview

The SSI Night Diving specialty on Tioman opens up the reef after dark, when octopus, moray eels and crustaceans come out to hunt and the water can sparkle with bioluminescence. You learn to dive confidently at night using lights, signals and careful navigation while exploring Tioman's calm shore and reef sites.

What you’ll learn

• Manage entries, exits and buoyancy in low light

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Comfort with basic buoyancy and navigation
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

1. Day1
   Night-diving skills

   Evening briefing and academic review, then the specialty night dives practising light signals, navigation and nocturnal marine-life spotting before certification.
