Course overview

Experience the Andaman reef after dark with the SSI Night Diving specialty in Krabi, exploring the calm local sites near Ao Nang as nocturnal creatures appear. Across guided night dives you build confidence with torchlight navigation and communication while watching octopus, cuttlefish and hunting morays. You finish certified as an SSI Night Diving specialty diver.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct a safe night dive
• Navigate and stay oriented using a torch
• Use light signals to communicate with your buddy
• Manage descents, ascents and exits in darkness
• Hold buoyancy and buddy contact in low light
• Spot and identify nocturnal reef species

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (junior) or 15
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent certification
• Comfortable with basic buoyancy and navigation
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & first night dive

   Study night-diving planning and complete your first dusk dive on a calm reef near Ao Nang, practising torch signals.
2. Day2
   Navigation & marine life

   Run a torch-led navigation dive and observe nocturnal Andaman life such as octopus and morays.
