Course overview

Experience the Red Sea after dark with the SSI Night Diving specialty in Hurghada, where the reef's nocturnal residents (moray eels, lobsters, octopus and hunting predators) take over once the lights go down. Across guided night dives you build light-handling, navigation and communication skills for diving in the dark. You finish certified to enjoy Hurghada's reefs by night.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct a safe night dive
• Handle primary and backup dive lights properly
• Use light-based signals to communicate with your buddy
• Navigate and keep orientation in darkness
• Manage entries, exits and buddy contact at night
• Spot and identify nocturnal reef species

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior) or 15
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent certification
• Comfortable buoyancy and basic navigation
• Medical clearance to dive signed by a physician
