Course overview

Experience the reef after sunset with the SSI Night Diving specialty on Gili Trawangan, when nocturnal life takes over the island's reefs. Across training dives you master light handling, navigation and communication in the dark, encountering octopus and hunting reef sharks in warm 27-29°C water.

What you’ll learn

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Comfortable buoyancy control
• Diver medical clearance where required

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   First night dive

   Evening briefing and SSI academics, then a first night dive practising light use on a calm Gili reef.
2. Day2
   Night dives & certification

   Further night dives focusing on navigation and nocturnal life, then certification.
