Course overview

The SSI Night & Limited Visibility specialty opens up Baa Atoll's reefs in the Maldives after dark, when nocturnal hunters take over the house reefs near Dharavandhoo. Through SSI's digital training and night dives, you learn light handling, signalling and orientation to dive confidently in low light.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct dives after dark and in low visibility
• Use primary and backup lights effectively
• Communicate with light signals underwater
• Navigate and control buoyancy in reduced visibility
• Spot and identify nocturnal marine life

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior) / 15
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent certification
• Comfortable with basic buoyancy and navigation
• Diver medical clearance form (physician sign-off if needed)
