Course overview

The PADI Night Diver specialty reveals a completely different side of Baa Atoll's reefs in the Maldives after dark, when octopus, moray eels and hunting predators emerge near Dharavandhoo. Across three night dives you learn light handling, navigation and communication in the dark to dive safely once the sun sets.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct dives after dark safely
• Use a primary and backup dive light effectively
• Communicate with light signals at night
• Navigate and maintain buoyancy in low visibility
• Identify nocturnal marine life and behaviour

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12
• PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or qualifying certification
• Comfortable with basic buoyancy and navigation
• Diver medical clearance form (physician sign-off if needed)

1. Day1
   Night dives

   Briefing and theory followed by three night dives on a familiar house reef near Dharavandhoo, practising light use, signalling and nocturnal marine-life spotting.
