Dive with confidence and find your own way using the SSI Navigation specialty in Malta and Gozo. The islands' clear, current-light reefs let you focus on compass work, natural references and distance estimation without distraction. You earn the SSI Navigation certification, a skill that improves every dive you make afterwards.

What you’ll learn

• Set and follow accurate compass headings
• Navigate using natural underwater references
• Estimate distance using kick cycles and time
• Run reciprocal and square navigation patterns
• Relocate a chosen underwater point
• Plan dives and orient yourself if disoriented

• Minimum age 10
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Medical clearance signed by a physician

   SSI academics plus navigation dives at a clear Gozo or Cirkewwa reef, practising compass headings, natural references and patterns, then certification.
