Course overview

The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox specialty teaches you to dive longer with extended no-decompression limits by using oxygen-enriched air, a clear benefit on Trincomalee's deeper rocky sites. This knowledge-focused course covers gas analysis and computer set-up so you can safely make the most of the reefs around Pigeon Island and Swami Rock.

What you’ll learn

• Understand how enriched air extends bottom time
• Calculate and respect maximum operating depth
• Analyse a cylinder's oxygen content
• Configure a dive computer for nitrox
• Manage oxygen exposure across repetitive dives
• Follow safe enriched-air procedures

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Nitrox theory & analysis

   Work through the digital academics, practise analysing cylinders and setting your computer, then apply it on optional dives over Trincomalee's reefs.
