Course overview

The PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) specialty lets you dive longer with shorter surface intervals by breathing air with a higher oxygen content, a real advantage on Trincomalee's reefs and deeper rocky sites. This is mainly a knowledge course with no required dives, teaching you to analyse cylinders and set your computer so you can extend bottom time over Pigeon Island and the Swami Rock area.

What you’ll learn

• Manage oxygen exposure and maximum operating depth
• Analyse a cylinder's oxygen percentage
• Set a dive computer for enriched air
• Plan dives for extended no-decompression limits
• Apply safe procedures for using nitrox

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12
• PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

1. Day1
   Nitrox theory & analysis

   Complete the enriched-air theory, practise analysing cylinders and setting your computer, then apply it on optional dives over Trincomalee's reefs.
