Course overview

Maximise your bottom time on Malta and Gozo's famous wrecks with the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox specialty. Breathing nitrox extends no-decompression limits and shortens surface intervals, ideal for the repetitive wreck and reef diving the islands offer. The SSI course is largely theory-based and can be finished without training dives.

What you’ll learn

• Understand how enriched air affects no-decompression limits
• Analyse and label nitrox cylinders correctly
• Calculate maximum operating depth for a blend
• Track oxygen exposure across multiple dives
• Plan enriched-air dives with a nitrox computer

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent
• No previous nitrox experience required

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Nitrox theory & analysis

   Complete the SSI academics, practise analysing and labelling cylinders and setting limits, then certification; optional enriched-air dives can be added on local wrecks.
