Course overview

Get more bottom time on Malta and Gozo's wrecks and reefs with the PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) specialty. Diving enriched air extends your no-decompression limits and shortens surface intervals, a real advantage on repetitive wreck dives at sites like the Um El Faroud and the patrol boats. This is a knowledge-based course you can complete without any training dives.

What you’ll learn

• Understand the benefits and risks of enriched air
• Analyse a cylinder's oxygen content
• Set maximum operating depth and oxygen exposure limits
• Plan nitrox dives with tables or a nitrox computer
• Manage oxygen-exposure tracking across repetitive dives

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12
• PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent
• No previous nitrox experience required

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Nitrox theory & analysis

   Complete the knowledge development, practise analysing cylinders and setting limits, then certification; optional enriched-air dives can be added on the islands' wrecks.
