Course overview

Learn to handle dive and everyday emergencies with SSI React Right on Kadmat Island. This non-diving, classroom course covers CPR, first aid and emergency oxygen, and it meets the first-aid prerequisite for the SSI Stress & Rescue and Divemaster ratings you may pursue across the atoll's lagoon and reef slopes.

What you’ll learn

• Perform CPR and primary assessment on a non-responsive patient
• Control serious bleeding and manage shock and spinal injury
• Use a barrier device and an automated external defibrillator where available
• Administer emergency oxygen to a diver in distress
• Provide secondary first-aid care for minor injuries and illness
• Build confidence to respond calmly in an emergency

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• Open to non-divers and divers of any level
• No minimum age for general participation (ratings have their own minimums)
• Willingness to practise CPR and first-aid skills on a manikin

1. Day1
   CPR, first aid & oxygen

   Classroom session covering CPR, bleeding control, secondary care and emergency oxygen, with manikin practice and a scenario-based assessment. No diving involved.
