Course overview

Begin your professional diving career with the SSI Divemaster (Dive Guide) certification in Rasdhoo Atoll, learning to lead certified divers through this small island's signature channel drifts and shark corners. The extended, experience-driven programme has you guiding and assisting on real dives at sites such as Madivaru Corner and the Rasdhoo channels, so you graduate with genuine current-diving leadership and local knowledge.

What you’ll learn

• Guide and supervise certified divers in drift and current conditions
• Deliver detailed site briefings, dive plans and hazard assessments
• Demonstrate all fundamental scuba skills to a high standard
• Assist SSI professionals during training programs
• Plan dives using SSI dive theory and the digital platform
• Apply rescue judgement, stress management and risk control

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent certification
• SSI Diver Stress & Rescue certification
• Current React Right (CPR & first aid) training
• Specialty certifications and logged dives per SSI standards (typically 40+ logged dives)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Orientation & theory

   Programme briefing and start of the SSI dive-theory and leadership modules.
2. Day2
   Water-skills assessment

   Complete stamina swims and the demonstration-quality skills circuit.
3. Day3
   Briefings & mapping

   Map a local reef and rehearse briefings at sites such as Holhi Faru.
4. Day4
   Dive-management workshops

   Navigation, search patterns and emergency-management scenarios in open water.
5. Day5
   Guiding in the channels

   Lead certified divers through drifts at Madivaru Corner and the Rasdhoo channels.
6. Day6
   Assessment & certification

   Final assessments, rescue scenarios and digital certification.
