Earn your SSI Divemaster in Papua New Guinea and begin working as a dive professional on the reefs of Kimbe Bay. Through a flexible internship alongside instructors across the bay's seamounts and fringing reefs, you build the leadership, planning and rescue judgement to guide certified divers in one of the planet's most coral-rich seas. The rating lets you supervise dives and support SSI courses internationally.
The SSI Divemaster rating is SSI's first professional certification, earned through a digital-academics plus internship model. It authorises you to supervise certified divers and assist SSI instructors, and is the gateway to SSI instructor training.
You train across Kimbe Bay's reefs and seamounts in warm 27-30°C water, with calm, clear conditions and dense coral and reef life making it an excellent place to learn dive leadership, best in the dry season from around May to October.
