Course overview

Earn your SSI Divemaster in Papua New Guinea and begin working as a dive professional on the reefs of Kimbe Bay. Through a flexible internship alongside instructors across the bay's seamounts and fringing reefs, you build the leadership, planning and rescue judgement to guide certified divers in one of the planet's most coral-rich seas. The rating lets you supervise dives and support SSI courses internationally.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent certification
• SSI Diver Stress & Rescue certification
• Current first aid and CPR / SSI React Right provider rating
• At least 40 logged dives (with continued logging toward professional requirements)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Orientation & academics

   Programme briefing and the start of SSI Divemaster digital academics and theory.
2. Day2
   Water-skills assessment

   Stamina swims, tows and equipment drills in the sheltered shallows of Kimbe Bay.
3. Day3
   Leadership workshops

   Dive-site mapping and briefing practice on a bay reef, plus rescue-scenario review.
4. Day4
   Internship dives

   Guide certified divers and assist instructors under supervision across Kimbe Bay.
5. Day5
   Assessment & certification

   Final evaluations and sign-off as an SSI Divemaster.
