Course overview

Launch your professional diving path with the SSI Divemaster course at Nusa Penida, qualifying you to guide certified divers and support SSI training programmes. Leading groups through the drifts of Toyapakeh and the cold currents of Crystal Bay builds the tide-reading, briefing and group-management skills that define a strong dive guide. It is the foundation rating for the entire SSI professional pathway.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent certification
• SSI Diver Stress & Rescue and current CPR / first-aid provider rating
• Logged dives meeting SSI prerequisites (Dive Guide and Divemaster levels)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Orientation & watermanship

   Course introduction, SSI digital theory and the stamina and watermanship assessments.
2. Day2
   Skills to standard

   Refine dive skills to demonstration quality in sheltered shallows at sites like Sampalan.
3. Day3
   Dive-guide practice

   Guide certified divers under supervision on drift sites such as Toyapakeh, managing current and entries.
4. Day4
   Practical workshops

   Run mapping, search-pattern and problem-management workshops and assist on a live course.
5. Day5
   Internship & certification

   Finish internship dives, the emergency-plan project and final exams to earn the rating.
