Course overview

Start your dive-professional career with the SSI Divemaster rating on Kadmat Island. Training across the atoll's protected lagoon and its Arabian Sea reef slopes, you develop the leadership, dive knowledge and stamina to guide certified divers and support instructors in 24-metre visibility, building toward the SSI professional pathway.

What you’ll learn

• Guide and supervise certified divers safely in open water
• Apply SSI dive-science theory to real dive planning
• Demonstrate core scuba skills to professional standard
• Run dive-site briefings, logistics and emergency procedures
• Support instructors during training programmes
• Pass SSI water-skills and stamina evaluations

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• SSI Advanced Adventurer and Stress & Rescue (or equivalent)
• Current first aid and CPR training
• Logged dives meeting SSI Dive Guide requirements (typically 40 or more)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Orientation & assessment

   Course overview, Science of Diving study plan and water-skills assessments in the lagoon.
2. Day4
   Skills & science

   Refine professional-level scuba skills and work through the SSI dive-science theory.
3. Day7
   Leadership workshops

   Navigation, mapping and dive-leadership practice on Kadmat's reef slopes.
4. Day10
   Guided-dive practice

   Lead certified divers and rehearse briefings, logistics and emergency management.
5. Day14
   Exam & certification

   Complete the Science of Diving exam, final evaluations and certify as an SSI Divemaster.
