Course overview

Become a dive professional with the PADI Divemaster course on Kadmat Island, the first rung on the PADI career ladder. Working across the atoll's calm lagoon and its Arabian Sea reef slopes, you build the stamina, dive-theory knowledge and leadership skills to supervise certified divers and assist instructors with students in 24-metre visibility.

What you’ll learn

• Plan, organise and lead certified divers on guided dives
• Master dive theory including physics, physiology and decompression
• Demonstrate the 24 scuba skills to professional, evaluable standard
• Conduct dive-site setup, briefings and emergency management
• Assist instructors during open-water training
• Complete demanding water-skills and stamina assessments

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver (or equivalent)
• Emergency First Response training within the last 24 months
• At least 40 logged dives to begin, 60 to certify
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Orientation & water skills

   Course overview, dive-theory study plan and the stamina and water-skills assessments in the lagoon.
2. Day4
   Demonstration skills

   Refine the 24 scuba skills to demonstration quality in confined and open water.
3. Day7
   Practical workshops

   Dive-site mapping, search-and-recovery and the deep-dive workshop on Kadmat's reef slopes.
4. Day10
   Leadership internship

   Assist instructors and lead certified divers, practising briefings and dive management.
5. Day14
   Exams & certification

   Complete dive-theory exams, final assessments and certify as a PADI Divemaster.
