Course overview

Launch your professional diving journey with the SSI Divemaster rating on the UNESCO-listed reefs of Baa Atoll in the Maldives. Through SSI's digital training and a working internship around Dharavandhoo, you develop dive-guiding, supervision and emergency-management skills on real atoll sites feeding Hanifaru Bay.

What you’ll learn

• Guide and supervise certified divers in open water
• Assist SSI instructors during training programmes
• Run thorough dive briefings and manage groups on atoll reefs
• Build dive-leadership stamina and water-rescue competence
• Apply dive theory, planning and environmental awareness

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent certification
• SSI Diver Stress & Rescue (or equivalent rescue training)
• Current CPR and first-aid training
• Recommended 40 or more logged dives
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Digital theory & baseline

   Work through MySSI Divemaster modules and complete waterskill baselines.
2. Day2
   Skills & rescue

   Stamina swims, demonstration skills and rescue evaluation in the lagoon.
3. Day3
   Leadership workshops

   Dive-guiding, briefing and group-management practice on local reefs.
4. Day4
   Internship dives

   Assist instructors and guide certified divers on the house reefs near Dharavandhoo.
5. Day5
   Assessment & certification

   Final leadership scenarios and professional sign-off.
