Course overview

Earn your SSI Divemaster rating in Alor and step into your first dive-industry role in one of Indonesia's most current-driven macro destinations. Guiding alongside instructors on walls like Bama and muck slopes such as Masjid Ampera, you develop the stamina, judgement and current awareness expected of a professional guide working serious water.

What you’ll learn

• Guide certified divers and support instructors during training

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent
• SSI Diver Stress & Rescue (or equivalent rescue certification)
• Valid first-aid and CPR / React Right provider rating
• Specified number of logged dives per SSI standards (around 40+)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Orientation & assessments

   Digital knowledge modules, swim and stamina tests, and an overview of the dive operation.
2. Day2
   Skills & rescue

   Refine core dive skills and complete the rescue assessment to professional standard.
3. Day3
   Guiding workshops

   Practise briefings, site setup and leading certified divers on Alor's reefs.
4. Day4
   Current management

   Lead groups on current sites such as Halerman, working on entries and tidal timing.
5. Day5
   Internship dives

   Assist on live courses and guided trips while logging mentored experience.
6. Day6
   Final assessment

   Complete final evaluations and your SSI Divemaster sign-off.
