Course overview

Become a PADI Divemaster in Alor and earn your first professional rating in one of Indonesia's most current-driven, macro-rich destinations. Working alongside instructors on walls like Bama and muck slopes such as Masjid Ampera, you build the stamina, dive-management skills and current awareness that define a guide who can lead in serious water.

What you’ll learn

• Supervise certified divers and assist instructors with students
• Plan and lead dives accounting for Alor's strong currents and tides
• Conduct dive-site setup, briefings and emergency-management scenarios
• Demonstrate the 24 dive skills to demonstration quality
• Map a dive site and guide groups along Alor's walls and macro slopes
• Develop the stamina and judgement of a working dive professional

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
• PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent)
• Emergency First Response training within the last 24 months
• At least 40 logged dives to begin and 60 to certify
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Orientation & assessments

   Knowledge reviews, the swim and stamina tests, and a tour of how the dive operation runs.
2. Day2
   Skills & rescue

   Polish the 24 dive skills to demonstration quality and complete the diver-rescue assessment.
3. Day3
   Guiding workshops

   Practise briefings, dive-site setup and leading certified divers on Alor's reefs.
4. Day4
   Current management

   Lead groups on current-affected sites such as Halerman, mastering entries and tidal timing.
5. Day5
   Mapping & internship

   Complete a site-mapping project and assist on a live course as an intern.
6. Day6
   Final assessment

   Wrap up exams, the practical evaluations and your Divemaster sign-off.
