Course overview

Take your first breaths underwater with the SSI Try Scuba experience on Mauritius's calm west coast. Following a friendly briefing in the sheltered Flic-en-Flac lagoon, an instructor guides you on a shallow dive to around 12 metres among clownfish, parrotfish and reef life. No prior experience or certification is needed to give scuba a go.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe underwater on scuba with confidence
• Equalise and descend gently with instructor support
• Clear your mask and recover your regulator
• Maintain basic buoyancy at shallow depth
• Use simple underwater hand signals
• Explore a guided reef dive safely

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable comfort in water
• Able to complete a brief medical questionnaire (clearance if any condition applies)
