Course overview

Discover what scuba feels like with the SSI Try Scuba experience on Koh Tao, the planet's busiest dive-training island. Following a simple briefing and shallow-water practice you make a guided open-water dive to around 12 metres at a gentle reef like Japanese Gardens, surrounded by clownfish and other tropical reef life.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe underwater comfortably on scuba
• Use the mask, fins, regulator and BCD
• Clear the mask and recover the regulator
• Equalise and manage basic buoyancy
• Use simple underwater hand signals
• Relax and enjoy a guided reef dive

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• No experience or swimming certification required
• Reasonable comfort in water
• Basic medical questionnaire / fitness to dive

   Review your dive and how the skills credit toward the SSI Open Water Diver course.
