Course overview

Experience scuba for the first time with the SSI Try Scuba experience on Kadmat Island. With an instructor beside you the whole time, you learn a handful of essential skills in the calm Lakshadweep lagoon, then explore the shallow coral reef of this remote atoll, no certification or previous experience needed.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe naturally underwater on scuba equipment
• Equalise your ears and clear your mask
• Recover and clear your regulator
• Move and balance underwater using fins
• Use basic underwater hand signals
• Enjoy a guided shallow reef dive with your instructor

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable health and comfort in water
• Complete a brief medical questionnaire before diving

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Briefing & first dive

   A safety and skills briefing, a short practice in the shallow lagoon, then a guided dive over Kadmat's coral reef to around 12 metres.
