Course overview

Try breathing underwater for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience on Kadmat Island. Under direct instructor supervision you learn a few basic skills in the calm, shallow Lakshadweep lagoon, then drift over the coral to meet the reef fish and turtles of this remote atoll, with no certification or prior experience needed.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater using scuba equipment
• Equalise your ears and clear water from your mask
• Recover and clear your regulator underwater
• Move and maintain basic buoyancy with fins
• Communicate with simple hand signals
• Enjoy a guided shallow reef dive with an instructor

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable health and comfort in water
• Complete a brief medical questionnaire before diving

1. Day1
   Briefing & first dive

   A safety and skills briefing, a short practice in the shallow lagoon, then a guided dive over Kadmat's coral reef to around 12 metres.
