Course overview

Try scuba for the first time with the SSI Try Scuba experience on Gili Trawangan, a guided introductory dive that requires no experience or certification. Following a short briefing you make a shallow dive on a calm Gili reef to encounter turtles and reef fish in warm 27-29°C water.

What you’ll learn

• How basic scuba equipment works
• Key safety rules and hand signals
• Comfortable underwater breathing
• Basic skills such as regulator and mask clearing
• Equalising and staying relaxed under instructor guidance

Prerequisites

• No experience or certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable health and comfort in water
• Complete a brief medical questionnaire

   Briefing, skills & guided dive

   Cover the basics with your instructor, practise breathing and skills in shallow water, then make a guided reef dive among Gili's turtles.
