Course overview

Reach the recreational limit of 40 metres with the SSI Deep Diving specialty at Khao Lak, tailored to the deeper sites of the Similan Islands. Across training dives on pinnacles such as Koh Bon and Koh Tachai you learn deep planning, gas management and narcosis awareness, opening up the granite walls and pelagic action that define Andaman deep diving.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Manage air and no-decompression limits at depth
• Recognise and manage nitrogen narcosis
• Track depth, time and gas conservatively
• Plan safety stops and contingency gas
• Refine buoyancy and ascent control on deep profiles

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent (with deep adventure dive)
• Comfortable buoyancy and gas management
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & first deep dives

   Study deep-diving theory and complete progressively deeper dives at a Similan park pinnacle near Khao Lak.
2. Day2
   Deeper dives & certification

   Complete further dives toward 40 metres at Koh Bon or Koh Tachai with planning exercises, then earn the SSI Deep Diving rating.
